Though the closest Godin comes to the excitement of Contrepoint is the jazzy, suite-like finale "Cité Radieuse," Concrete and Glass is still a fine example of his distinctively smooth style. Saltfire - Petit Furzebrook (Rectangle with Top Two Corners Cut) High Definition Stove Glass. If I was told correctly the 3720 was made for the European market and, after the oil shortages/embargoes of the '70s & 80s, Godin developed the 3730 and others for the export market. It is very similar to the 3730 spec sheet that Franco B posted. Another highlight is "Catch Yourself Falling," a poppy collaboration with Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor that sounds so natural, it's surprising that he and Godin haven't worked together before. The 3720 is still manufactured by Godin in France. Kadhja Bonet's elegant turn on "We Forgot Love" makes it easy to envision her singing it alone in a gorgeous but empty penthouse. Godin's other collaborators also help distinguish the album from his prior work. It's often more streamlined, as on "Time on My Hands," a sculptural track featuring impassioned vocals by Kirin J Callinan. However, Concrete and Glass isn't a rehash of Air's music. Godin even includes some of the whimsy that prevented his previous project from seeming too pretentious with "Turn Right Turn Left," a sci-fi pop duet with a route-finding app that makes navigating Los Angeles sound blissful. But burning coal is a bit of a problem for me. It is in nice shape, but after I got it home I noticed that the exhaust box is sized for a 4' flue. ![]() The manufacturer' tag on the back states that the stove is rated as 'au charbon' (for coal). GODIN PETIT OVAL ENAMEL MAJOLICA BROWN 7KW. ![]() With its vocodered vocals, spacey electronics, and a melody that flirts with several moods - romance, loneliness, nostalgia - without settling on any of them, "What Makes Me Think About You" harks all the way back to Moon Safari's "Remember." "The Border," an homage to Mies van der Rohe, recalls the spacious, late-night moods of Pocket Symphony. 1 I have recently acquired a Petit Godin 3726 (small oval). Stove is the generic term used to describe any appliance in. As its name suggests, Godin's second solo album is ultra-sleek and airy, in both senses of the word. If Contrepoint's dazzling fusion of classical, jazz, Tropicalia, exotica, and left-field pop and the flawless '60s spy music homage of his Au Service de la France (A Very Secret Service) score felt like reactions to the iconic sound he crafted with Air, then Concrete and Glass is a welcome return to it. Much like an architect, over the years Godin has built on his music's foundations while continuing to innovate. ![]() A skilled use of structure and space is just as important to composing music as designing a building, and the weightless drift of his music is as much of a feat as a skyscraper that seems to defy gravity. Looking back on his career with and without Air, Nicolas Godin's beginnings as an architecture student become more and more apparent - and not just because the first song he created, "Modulor Mix," was a tribute to Le Corbusier. I hope others can give more constructive advice in terms of heat output, etc.Purchase and download this album in a wide variety of formats depending on your needs. If you have a back-up style of heating such as central heating, then it really does give the feel of a French country house and there aren't a lot of other fires in that same style. Nectarine's job to clean the glass doors - and he complains every time - then it's worth taking into account.īut on the plus side - it suits the style of the room beautifully. ![]() Newer fires have an airflow which keeps the glass clean. Also, the fire makes the glass doors dirty, they need cleaning every day and we are using good wood. If I were changing it I would buy a similar sized fire but with a higher heat output - our room is slightly larger but the heat is very localised (but we have no loft insulation, which may be one of the causes!). We have a Colonial - yes it looks lovely but on output it's not as much as other fires of the same size. ![]()
